Blistering is the inaugural exhibition of Sixfold Project, a group of six artists – Raewyn Biggs, Barbara Dover, Louisa Ennis-Thomas, Julie Poulsen, Rose Rigley and Jennifer Valmadre. Each artist developed a new body of work which responded to states of crisis in Australia and around the world. The multidisciplinary artists worked across a range of materials and processes to convey ideas about a world in the calamity of a pandemic, bushfires and changing climate.
Remnants considers a single animal species under threat from the effects of climate change and human impact on the natural environment. Alarmingly, though, koalas are just one of countless animal species imperilled by ecological catastrophes.
